Dreaming Of A New Filofax Planner

Dear Diary,

Maybe it’s the change of seasons that’s putting me in the mood, or maybe it’s becasue my Fins (personal raspberry Finsbury) is getting stuffed, but I’ve been dreaming of a new Filofax planner a lot lately. The only problem is the price.  I’d love to have 4 or 5 different ones to switch around throughout the year, with my wish list being:

  • Personal Ochre Malden
  • Personal Aqua Malden
  • Personal Wine Holborn
  • Personal .. shoot.. I forget the name! “Something” Grand ! LOL!

I’ve been accumulating $5 Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks, and since the arrival of the aqua Maldens to the Filofax USA site continues to be pushed back, I may end up buying an aqua Saffiano instead.

Well, I don’t have  much to say today, so I’ll leave you with a few pictures of my decorated pages!

A Few More Decorated Planner Pages

Dear Diary,

I’m continuing to have so much fun decorating and planning my days with my personal raspberry Finsbury. Writing down my appoitments and my daily tasks helps me to organize and manage my time. And when something isn’t working, I can easily see where adjustments can be made. Also, decorating the pages is very therapeutic for me. It satisfies the small amount of craftiness I have in  my blood! Here are some pictures of my decorated planner pages since my last entry:

Week 39 with Inserts

You can see my inserts…. every week I have a small insert with each of the FlyLady missions for every day of that week. I can then check them off as I do them, without taking up space on my precious diary pages! I try to coordinate these inserts with my diary page decor for the week. The other insert is my monthy goal list, which moves with each new week, then is left between the pages of the last week of the month and a new one is created for the new month. This concept I’m struggling with. I have had it between the weekly pages, I’ve had it between the month on 2 pages/month at a glace, and I just don’t seem to use them. My goals are pretty much the same every month, so I might stop doing this because these same goals are also on my big 2013 Goals page.  Space is a precious commodity in my planner, so eliminating this insert will save some space that I desperately need.  I wish there were more options for Filofax binders with bigger rings.  But at this point I won’t go back to Franklin Covey because those binders are just too big for my liking.

By the way, I think my favorite decorated pages so far is my week 39, with the fall foliage, pictured above. October is my FAVORITE month, and I love the colors and the simple yet pretty outcome of these pages!

Finally, here is a picture of all the binders that I have that are currently in use:

The bottom is a decorative 3-ring binder that I’m using for a Control Journal. The next one up is a black A5 Metropol that is my homeschooling planner for my 7th grade son. On top of that is my beloved Fins – personal raspberry Finsbury Filofax that has almost my whole life in it! ;)   On top of that is a pocket purple Domino that I use as a health and wellness planner, and at the tippity top is my cute little pink Portobello Filofax that I  use as a wallet.

My Current Set-up – Personal Finsbury Filofax

Dear Diary,

I’ve made a few changes to my personal Finsbury Filofax set-up and I thought I’d share it with you. The biggest changes are a few new dividers that I got from a Barnes & Noble Punctuate planner, I removed the Spiritual section and replaced it with a FlyLady section, and I’m now using a Punctuate planner 2PPW diary instead of the Filofax brand.

As with any good planner system, you will move things around, take sections out, and put new sections in as things in your life change. That’s why having a ring binder is so much better than a wired binder, or any other type of binder that doesn’t allow you move pages around. Yes, the Filofax ring binders may be more expensive, but they are made with superior craftsmanship and they are built to last many, many years.

I chose to use the Punctuate diary pages for the rest of 2013 and into 2014 because I like the quality of the paper better than the Filofax diary pages.  At first, I wasn’t sure I’d like having the lines on the diary pages, but I don’t mind them at all. And the pink font matches my raspberry Finsbury nicely! So even if I don’t decorate my planner pages, they will still have a splash of color, unlike the black Filofax diary pages.

My planner only has so much room, and unless I upgrade to something with larger rings, my Finsbury was getting pretty fat. So I took out a few months in the begining of the year, and took out my spirituality section. I replaced it with a section for FlyLady, which I’ve recently started. But this section is small because I’m in the process of making a household manual, also called a Control Journal, which will have all the details. For now, my Control Journal will be in a 3-ring binder.  Eventually, I might want to put it into an A5 Filofax… we’ll see!

Well,  instead of reading my ramblings… just check out my video to see my current personal Finsbury Filofax set-up:

Decorated Filofax Pages In My Raspberry Personal Finsbury

Dear Diary,

I have not been a very good journal-er over the past couple of months. I have neglected to keep up with my diary, but I’ve been Filofaxing away! I thought I’d take a few minutes right now to show you some pictures of the Filofax decorated pages in my raspberry personal Finsbury planner.  The last pages I shared was from week 19, which seems like so long ago! Luckily, I take pictures each week of my decorated pages and share them on Instagram and a Facebook page or two. (I’m a member of several Filofax Facebook groups!)   So.. without further adieu, here’s a look at some of my decorated pages from week 21 until week 36 … I hope you don’t mind all the images, there will be a lot! ;)
