I’ve made a few changes to my personal Finsbury Filofax set-up and I thought I’d share it with you. The biggest changes are a few new dividers that I got from a Barnes & Noble Punctuate planner, I removed the Spiritual section and replaced it with a FlyLady section, and I’m now using a Punctuate planner 2PPW diary instead of the Filofax brand.
As with any good planner system, you will move things around, take sections out, and put new sections in as things in your life change. That’s why having a ring binder is so much better than a wired binder, or any other type of binder that doesn’t allow you move pages around. Yes, the Filofax ring binders may be more expensive, but they are made with superior craftsmanship and they are built to last many, many years.
I chose to use the Punctuate diary pages for the rest of 2013 and into 2014 because I like the quality of the paper better than the Filofax diary pages. At first, I wasn’t sure I’d like having the lines on the diary pages, but I don’t mind them at all. And the pink font matches my raspberry Finsbury nicely! So even if I don’t decorate my planner pages, they will still have a splash of color, unlike the black Filofax diary pages.
My planner only has so much room, and unless I upgrade to something with larger rings, my Finsbury was getting pretty fat. So I took out a few months in the begining of the year, and took out my spirituality section. I replaced it with a section for FlyLady, which I’ve recently started. But this section is small because I’m in the process of making a household manual, also called a Control Journal, which will have all the details. For now, my Control Journal will be in a 3-ring binder. Eventually, I might want to put it into an A5 Filofax… we’ll see!
Well, instead of reading my ramblings… just check out my video to see my current personal Finsbury Filofax set-up:
